The Scottish Parliament needed to understand its ability to accommodate current and future operational requirements. Through a space audit, utilisation study and interviews, we established the potential for accommodating growth by encouraging greater flexibility in the way people work, developing more effective mobile IT and infrastructure provision, allocating space differently and introducing workspace principles. We also proposed four concept design options for a base room piloting Holyrood’s new ‘Digital Parliament’ initiative.
