AMA believes in evidence-based consultative design. We have developed a unique toolkit of hard and soft metrics. AMA WorkWare combines building measurement and evidence on how buildings are really used, and how users respond to inform strategic estate building and planning. The toolkit comprises five methodologies:
- Space occupancy surveys (SOS)
- Questionnaires
- Space audits
- Interviews
- Workshops and focus groups
Information gathered using WorkWare is recorded in an extensive database providing benchmarks for individual projects and reports on sector trends. We can show our clients where their facilities rank in their peer group. We produce graphic representations of how space is used over time, including occupancy and frequency profiles.
We have developed refinements of WorkWare for particular building and space types – WorkWareLEARN for educational buildings, WorkWareCONNECT for interaction and collaboration spaces and WorkWareSUSTAIN for monitoring sustainable behaviours.
Strategic planning requires good information on where you are now, where you want to be and how to get there. This information informs future space requirements, identifies suitable buildings, enhances future layouts and informs the business case for a move or refurbishment.
