Higher education

With rapid expansion in student numbers, colleges and universities need to make the best use of existing buildings as well as investing in new facilities. Significant changes in pedagogy and teaching technologies are underway, emphasising social learning, collaboration, multimedia, peer to peer and blended learning. Conventional teaching spaces, such as lecture theatres and classrooms, are being rethought.

AMA has a wealth of experience at every level, from the campus to individual buildings. We understand the context and constraints within which educational facilities are funded, procured and managed.

AMA’s work is underpinned by solid research. Our reports for the Scottish Funding Council, JISC and HEFCE summarised key findings linking buildings and estates to educational outcomes.
